You may have read countless articles or even books on how to stay slim, yet all of them got you even more confused. Just the thought of the word “dieting” keeps people scared or even feel totally deprived.

The problem with most women’s dieting for a much slimmer body is the strategy to keep the extra off. When they choose to eat snacks within a definite calorie range, they found themselves feeling more deprived and end up eating more.

As it can be eaten raw or cooked, the flexibility of the preparation and availability makes it an easier option. Sounds easy for reaching the goal of a slimmer waistline.

2. Apples

Fiber factory! As common as it is available everywhere, apples are great sources of fiber that pulls cholesterol levels down while aiding the digestion process. Another great thing about this is not having the need to yield calorie intake while enjoying the taste. A recent research suggests that eating at least three apples and pears to daily meals can help you reduce weight than eating oatmeal.

3. Salmon

What can be healthier than fish? It is proven that fish can help prevent heart disease as with other sea foods. A good source of protein, salmon is low in calorie and has a tolerable fat content. When in need of protein but wants to avoid other meat, absolutely there is fish!

4. Eggs

There have been confusions as to how many eggs can be eaten daily. It was proven that eggs for breakfast can make you fight weight gain daily. When eaten at breakfast for least twice a week, you are guaranteed to shed some pounds a lot higher than those who prefer to eat bread.

5. Almonds

This is absolutely a combination of tasty and healthy! As a popular middle of the day snack, women tend to eat more of it as it was found that twice weekly consumption can make you lose weight effectively. Letters of credit is one of the most popular business correspondence employees must know how to write. Here are the nine great tips on writing a letter of credit and winning the action you want done!

1.      Keep a courteous tone, no matter the circumstances. If you must deny a person credit, discontinue credit, or begin the collection process, maintain a professional tone as you explain your reasons for taking this action. Remember, you'll probably want to keep this customer's business, even if you must ask for cash payments.
2.      If you must deny a request for credit, leave the door open to future applications from the same party.
3.      If payment is more than a month late, encourage the customer to contact you to discuss the lapse in payment.
4.      If a payment is more than 60 days overdue and the customer has shown no move toward making the payment or discussing why he or she has not made payment, let him or her know exactly what the penalty will be unless he or she responds immediately with the payment. Top five ways to prevent breast cancer

Breast cancer. What could be scarier to women than breast cancer? There are actually some ways to help prevent the disease even before it starts, yet there are some simple ways many of us overlooked. Here are the top five ways to breast cancer prevention.

1. Stretch ‘em up!!!

It has been noted that there is a great connection between amount of exercise and breast cancer prevention. Research says doing an intense exercise regularly lessens the risks of our estrogen levels. The higher the estrogen levels we have, the higher the risks for developing breast cancer. It means, the lower the levels, the lower the risks too! Why not keep moving?

2. Eat right

Stretching our muscles daily may help some more if supplemented with proper diet. Women must be aware that prevention of breast cancer can also be as simple as eating healthy and keeping a good lifestyle. Changing our choices of food and nutrient intakes make a huge difference that can be enjoyed long term.

3. Be aware!

Never rely on your personal judgment alone. Most women find out their conditions only too late to be treated easily. To prevent breast cancer, know the ways to examine yourself, and when things are not so good, seek medical help. A simple visit to the doctor may actually be your life saver!

4. Be futuristic

Always try to look at the possibility of having breast cancer beside your lifestyle. With the feeling of dread brought about by the mere thought of possibly having to deal with it, get a shot of the vaccine. Many women chose not to stick to their diet or exercise alone, but take precautionary measure to the closest certainty. Why live with the fear of having breast cancer when you can prevent it this early?

5. Invest on your health

Try to account the expenses you have for the movies or fine dining. If you can actually afford such, then saving a little for your health insurance and medical examinations fees can be quite easy. Once you have the plan, stick to it. It’s better to be prepared than be caught defenseless.

Preventing breast cancer may sound quite tough as discussions on the ways to do it may not end sooner. These, however, shall not be neglected nor ignored. Our simple way of living the right way; having a healthy diet and active lifestyle in the present will help us enjoy life to ripe old age.

Top five reasons community service exposure is good for students

There have been many questions about the need for community service exposure of students. Can you even imagine the world without community service? It means a society where people don’t know what charity and usefulness are. More than just a prerequisite for graduation, it actually addresses problems in the community commonly missed by the government or the non government organizations.

All smiles. The recipients of our college's annual community service weekend.
Good Shepherd's Fold Academy and Orphanage, Buenavista, Guimaras.
Other than fulfilling your subject’s requirements, experiencing community outreach programs help push communities for the better. With my experience as a student-volunteer in my university for four years and as an active support faculty for the National Service Training Program of the college, I will be enumerating the top five reasons it is good for students.

1. Assist and make a difference to someone’s life
With many students who prefer to get jobs and earn, there are young minds that think of benefitting society than just themselves. A simple act of helping to take care of the elderly and the handicapped might not be pocket-friendly, but can create changes that will make someone believe he/she is useful. They might not be earning something monetary, yet the experience of changing people’s lives is infinitely more than what any amount can afford.

2. Gaining confidence

Having the chance to be with different kinds of people can make one gain confidence. In the community, a student-volunteer will have the chance to experience things first hand. They may even be given responsibilities to design or implement changes. As they needed to go on some processes with this, meeting people of diverse personalities will help them gain confidence. Believe me, it is more than just how much you earn that will boost your self-image. In most cases, having the feeling of being able to help someone is in itself gratifying.

3. Improve one’s self

Going out of your way and reaching out to help someone who is a total stranger at first will make you feel good about yourself. As time goes by, students will eventually develop a sense of concern and empathy for people. With such, they will continue to live by the values they acquired and most likely be socially involved. Someone who has an in-depth understanding of people will be flexible enough to adjust, and will never have difficulty dealing with new faces. With their understanding of the realities of life, they won’t be hard enough on themselves, and will even be more appreciative of their blessings. They are bound to enjoy the many different experiences life has to offer.

4. Open new perspectives
Nothing beats lessons from experiences. As students are exposed early on to the social forces that define their society, they will acquire awareness and even devise ideas to make life better. When people are used to living with all the conveniences, they lose interest and concern for society and become greedy. They may even look down to people who are already suffering enough. Giving them the chance to know or even feel the experiences of the less fortunate will open their minds on the possibilities of having to be understanding and non judgmental.

5. Foster long term changes
With their understanding of the world, and the experiences and actions they did to change it, students exposed to community service are likely to foster long term changes. Other than the fact that they influenced the lives and beliefs of the locals, their acquired social concern and sensitivity will enable them to live by their values and pass them on to people they work with, or better yet, with their children. What else could be better with having children sensitive enough to answer the call for social actions?

I have learned so much from my community service years, and I am happy to have seen my students feel the same. The significance and value of committing one’s self to community service is beyond imagination. With students budding into individuals with concerns to the world they live in, we will find it easier to avoid, if not totally take away the problems that continue to exist. Exposing students to the glory of community service will benefit those who are in need. As they reach out, they will have conveyed to the community the message of unselfish love and knowledge that will foster developments. Social conscience leads to better life not just for the people we work for, but for ourselves at most.

Have you ever been onto community service? What have you learned so far?
